Yeah been reading about that, did you see that Trey's mom was pissed about it? That was the latest news, haha.

RE: Gripe Thread - Emplate - 12-29-2016

Hahah, yeah, I did! Hilarious :D Guess reserving some popcorn would be in order, 'cause I bet we haven't seen the last of this saga! Hope this will be as entertaining as the Wintersun crowd funding epic!

RE: Gripe Thread - Godflesh - 12-29-2016

Entombed A.D. shit was just ridiculous too. It's a good thing that this is not all serious business for us, getting entertained on the side, haha

RE: Gripe Thread - Emplate - 12-29-2016

Yeah. Although I found the whole Entombed thing a bit frustrating, as it's one of my favorite bands. They killed live, and I felt Serpent Saints was their best in a long while, so I was really waiting for the following album. Still haven't listened to Back to the Front, 'cause I was so disappointed. All that wait, and then they pulled that bullshit :D

RE: Gripe Thread - Godflesh - 12-30-2016

Their A.D. albums haven't been that great, but I've seen them live twice and they still kill!

RE: Gripe Thread - Godflesh - 01-04-2017

I was thrilled that my Kingston Wall: The Real Live Thing -5LP box set finally arrived, but it was quite a letdown. I was expecting a beautiful package made of sturdy thick cardboard. Instead the whole thing is almost as cheap as it can get.

Very thin cardboard slide-in sleeve (like the Swallow The Sun 5LP), no inserts, LP sleeves are thin, LPs are 140g. The cardboard sleeve has a die-cut logo on it, maybe that is meant to be the quality mark on this. There are 5 LPs, but they couldn't get the band name or even the catalog number on the same level in any of those. Each one of them is slightly off compared to the others, and it's not even due to centering, the whole printing is just off on them. I hope it sounds good, otherwise there's nothing good in it. The worst piece of box set junk I've ever seen.

EDIT. Anti-gripe:
Thank God I decided to open the Blood Music package last. All that bitter disappointment is washed away, because everything in the BM package is just perfect again. The LPs and sleeves reek of quality and the vinyl colour design and execution is brilliant! Dan Terminus, Astronoid, Scum, Irreversible Machanism - I especially love the IR vinyl outcome.

RE: Gripe Thread - Karkassi - 01-05-2017

I was thinking of getting that box set so that i'd have somewhat "full discography on clear vinyl", but now i think i'll just pass. The whole thing seemed somehow unattractive with the bland cover of just the band logo and really no information of anything extra to justify the high cost. Odd release from Svart. Many of their other "vintage releases" include some liner notes or other extra stuff there (as they had with the original album trilogy).

RE: Gripe Thread - Godflesh - 01-05-2017

The original trilogy is beautifully executed, but this so-called box set is the complete opposite. It's hard to believe it's made by Svart, because like you said, they have made effort to make the packaging/liner notes on old reissues or first-time vinyl issues of cult albums really worth getting the reissue. If you skip this set, you'll spare yourself from a big disappointment. The cardboard sleeve CD version looks and feels much better and I don't have to cringe every time I see it.

Is this a gripe? Smile
