No, unfortunately I didn't :/ Pori is kind of a difficult location and I remember the tickets selling out really fast.

Really looking forward to your new signing announcements. This year once again looks good for death with the new Inverloch album and Funebrarum EP out. Ataraxy is also releasing a new 7". They're 100% Asphyx worshiping, but I think they do it well, nevertheless. Here's a preview track from their upcoming EP:

Both amazingly great groups. I consider Dead Congregation as one of the best bands in the world right now.

I do love good ol' Chuck Schuldiner Death, and Ulcerate's a fun death metal band I like a lot. I also listened to Fallujah's single earlier and I dug that a good bit.
I'm the same with death metal in its purest form. My collection is very small on that so I'll have to check these out too. Now I seem to be in more of a technical DM phase but progressive death metal - a la Opeth, NeO or the awesome Finnish band Ikuinen Kaamos - will always have a soft spot for me.

And yes the new Fallujah tracks have been really great. Their new album (which I've pre-ordered) should be awesome.

Ha... J's a cradle-snatcher... :-p

Hahaha!
Nice one.

My favorite band ever is Bolt Thrower, I have flew all over the world to see them and have collected their t shirts since 1996 a feat in itself as they only sell them live at shows.

Upon hearing Realm of Chaos for the first time, I almost threw all my Metallica cassettes in the bin.

My favorite DM album is Deathevokation - The Chalice of the Ages

Heh, I wouldn't bet on any of my previous band examples to appeal to a person who's more into progressive or technical death metal, but of course you can try Smile At some point I've also enjoyed prog/tech style of dm as well, but nowadays I've grew a bit tired of it and mostly like my metal a bit more raw and unpolished. However, there are of course always exceptions. For example, I still bow to greatness of Death.

Both Thrower's awesome, respect for your mission! The Chalice of the Ages is also one of my favorite albums. Too bad Deathevokation seems to be split up, as at one point they were talking about making a new album.

Always been partial to the grittier side of death metal. Mitochondrion, Auroch. Chthe'ilist are really awesome. Super dark, atmospheric, dirty, heavy and the guitar shredding.

My all time fave death metal band though has to be portal. They've been at it for quite some and never miss. Maybe it's my Aussie bias. They put on killer live shows too.

Portal's the shit, you right. I'd love to see them live.

Yeah, Mitochondrion's cool, I really dig "Parasignosis". You're also right about Portal, I've seen them live once, and although the place was small and you couldn't see a goddamn thing, it was really hypnotic. Rarely have I seen a live show which captivates that kind of dark atmosphere so well. I didn't even feel like applauding between songs, so that the dense atmosphere that was built wouldn't collapse.

I, too, greatly enjoy that type of dark and atmospheric type of death metal. Bands such as Temple Nightside (well, what do you know, another Aussie band!), Witchrist, Diocletian and Grave Miasma are fucking beasts. To some extent, I would consider Bölzer a part of this movement, although they kinda have a thing of their own going on.
