RE: Gripe Thread - perennial_quest - 01-06-2017 #1: Stupid CanadaPost mailman. We have one of those community mailboxes in my neighborhood. I received my order from Prosthetic Records today. The thing is, the box was 1cm too large for my mailbox and I was unable to remove it. It would fit with their big "master" door open, but once closed I could not remove it at all. I had to walk back to my home, get a knife, and then walk back to the mailbox and cut the box to pull the content out. Lost half an hour on this. I probably damaged the covers while trying to remove the box as all my LPs are dinged on the lower left corner. I've got one a kind dinged editions! Yay!! #2: Heaven's Cry: Food for Thought Substitute -CD It's not a gripe at the album, far from it. I was just the unlucky guy to get the one and only copy with no CD in it. There's the booklet but no disc. A plant fuck up of course. I wrote to Prosthetic, waiting for a reply. RE: Gripe Thread - anomynous - 01-15-2017 Gripe: European poster sizes are a PITA to get frames for in the US. Time to go to Ikea RE: Gripe Thread - Godflesh - 02-15-2017 I've been dissatisfied with Posti at least for the last year, but this time it goes to show that they just don't seem to give a fuck anymore. Thank god J sent tracking codes and that the package came from Finland and not from e.g. USA. I got the Emperor box notification the other day and I picked it up yesterday. I didn't even think about the second box missing until today. I thought that it'll just arrive a day later for some reason. No notification yesterday nor today. I checked the tracking info for both and it revealed that both boxes had been sitting at the post office since Friday, and that the arrival notifications had been sent then - to be collected against it or the code. And that the other box had been delivered to the recipient on Feb 14th. Got home early for this and went down there to see what the deal was. Sure, they handed over the other box against the code I wrote down. But when I asked about the arrival notification, the lady just said that 'Oh, I'm sorry. We forgot to do the notification for the other package. These things happen once in a while.' Wait, what?!? Come again!? We forgot to do that - and that it happens every once in a while. You forgot to do the job you were hired to do. The main thing you're supposed to do when handling and handing over packages from the premises. What kind of morons you have working there? Well, I didn't get rude or pointing fingers or sarcastic, because it would've made no difference at this point. I was fuming and shouting at them inside my head and trying my best not to get all personal. After all, I got my box before it was sent back and it's in perfect shape. Besides, there's no reason to piss off the ladies at the post office, because they're really nice to me and give me my packages even without an ID/driver's licence when I've forgotten my wallet (or even the arrival notification), because I go there every two days on average. But what if I didn't get the tracking code and bought the box set from e.g. USA, with $150 shipping costs. They would've sent the package back after 14 days and I would've had to pay that $150 all over again. It's a good thing that I had the good 20+ years with them and got my collection before they turned to utter shite. RE: Gripe Thread - hugo - 02-15-2017 I once shipped a blackberry phone from Mexico City to my dad who lives in a border town, using the mexican parcel service. When the package arrived, the phone was gone and a metal spoon was in the box to make it feel heavy. No way to complain because "I did not pay for insurance." We learn the hard way. |
