So Slayer just announced the European dates for their final tour. I last saw them at Hellfest in 2008 and they were fucking boring... a far cry from the times I saw them in the 90's.
But... It's fucking Slayer. For the last time ever. I'm definitely going to the London show.

Just saw Metallica yesterday for the first time ever! I've been a fan over 30 years, so it's been a long wait. There's always been something preventing me from seeing them.
And they were actually very good. I was reallly afraid it was going to suck for some reason. 14 old songs/covers. Nice! That's counting also the Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth) bass solo. We were pretty stunned that at one point Kirk and Rob played an old legendary Finnish rock song (Hassisen Kone: Rappiolla) - in Finnish! WTF

They've been playing "local" covers at each show on this tour. In Norway they did "Take On Me" by A-Ha, lol.

I've been to Dark Troll Festival again this year. Was especially excited to see Havukruunu who were playing in Germany for the very first time - and they delivered a cool show! Also enjoyed Skyforger, Trollort and Ereb Altor. Arkona was decent, too - but I've seen them many times before, so no big surprises there.
Up next is Wave Gotik Treffen with Wardruna being the big highlight. Have seen them a few times already, but they never seem to get boring.

Got the ticket as a present and thus had the chance to visit the Dunk!fest in Belguim last week.
Have to say that this thing was the most polite and well organised festival I've ever had the chance to attend to.
You get free
-coffee 24/7
-breakfast
-electricity
-drinking water
-possibility to take a shower as long and as often as you wantand of course there are always clean toilets with a flush and enough t. paper and soap and so on.
There are only 1000 tickets every year. So it feels quite intimate for a festival. The staff is as friendly as the visitors themselves.
They have two rotating stages so you always have the chance to see everything. But as everything is so close together you can always hear every band from your tent.
One stage is perfectly integrated in the near woods and the other is a big top.
The variety in musical styles could be expanded for my taste, but I was never "bored".
Was happy to see Grails,Wyatt E. or Radare to name a few examples.
May revisit this one next year (on my own costs).

wow about Dunk!fest, had no idea. I usually dread festivals because they are a chore to attend. Wish more were like that in the US!

I absolutely agree with you.
Last year they had a Dunk!fest U.S. Edition. But I don't know if they will repeat that.
Forgot to add that there is also the possibility to meet every band after their performance.
They all attend the little clearly laid out merch area to have a chat with the people, sell or sign a few records and have a beer. Good thing!
