Have to say that I liked the melancholic and gloomy atmosphere of Romantik far better than this punishing Triptykon-style pummeling the premiere tracks of the new album have had.

Well, most of the tracks on the new album have this kind of feel to them, so you probably wouldn't enjoy it as much. It's similar to their pre-Romantik stuff, although this one sounds even more determined in its anger than the previous releases. Had Plasmabrand on repeat when it came out. Personally, I am loving the new album so far. Uncompromising, genuine. Whether it's melancholy, anger or outright cheesiness. The "Zeitgeister spirit" as they call it.
