Gire - MAC_HATER - 04-25-2016

Thought I should start a tread for them as their self titled album has a permanent place in my music playlists and currently a day never passes without listening to at least one track from them

I found em while I was discovering Perturbator's stuff at the same time - even Tonight while I was browsing the Perturbator LP's for sale on the Blood Music Store, I stumbled across the Gire Limited edition coloured 2xLP set, I didn't know about this previously, and instantly bought a copy then and there haha

I'm interested to see others thoughts too - Apparently they did a metric fucktonne of Live performances - that would have been cool to see Big Grin

Love this band, but I think they are forever doomed to semi-obscurity. But really one of the best obscure bands within all of death metal if you ask me!

Yeah, these guys have a very distinctive sound. I found out about them through Thy Catafalque.

def a great band . Love them SmileTamás Kátai also did a solo album, but more ambient. very nice also.

I just find it so awesome to just sit down and listen to, Usually I need or want music to go with me when I'm doing something else, but this - this IS the something I'm doing, just sitting down listening to this haha

I'm stoked there is a LP release for this too, have only recently got into this and catching up for lost time fast haha, might have to look at a better turntable before this arrives, My old cheapie is starting to act up and isn't serviceable cartridge wise, i hate for it to mess up such an awesome looking and sounding record pair

Nice timing, now that he revealed he's releasing another one, ha. Would love his solo works on vinyl, too...

Had an interesting discussion with a friend in the weekend about the band, we blazed through the album on a roadtrip, but had differing opinions on the name, how do you pronounce it?

Is it Gire as in "dire" or Gire as in GRRR angry dog?

Either works for me haha, but I'm interested to know the proper pronounciation

RE: Gire - winterburner - 05-03-2016

I always pronounce it as a Finn would. Or a Hungarian, for that matter. Hard G, rolled R, vowels separately. Have to be honest though, have wondered myself too what the correct pronounciation is. Would have to ask one of the band members.

RE: Gire - RevolvingImages - 05-03-2016

I always say it in my head as "Gear", but that's probably way off.
