I finally listened through the whole thing from Spotify. I've tried several times before, but for some reason failed. It can't be the duration, since I like, for example, Esoteric. I was waiting for this very eagerly since the first preview track, and if I remember correctly, I was quite fond of the next one as well. In the end, when it came out, I still hesitated because of the price tag and didn't buy it straight away. And finally, when I decided I'll try it out first from Bandcamp/Spotify (can't remember which, and doesn't matter really, I guess), I have to say I was quite disappointed. There were occasional ok melodies and riffs, but mostly it felt like too much mediocre ideas to base such a long album. There's Peste Noire-y parts here and there, but they're nowhere close to the genius of KPN. Also, the soundscape of the album just doesn't resonate with me. I feel it either should be dirtier or more polished. Now it's just kind of... I don't know, boring. The spoken parts didn't help the distance I felt towards the whole thing. I often found myself losing interest when trying to listen to it.

Not like my opinion really matters in the grand scheme of things, but I just wanted to explain why this particular metalhead wasn't that much into this album despite the first excitement, as I now remembered it again. Unfortunately, no matter how much I wanted to like it, I really did, I can't help but feel this was a bit too ambitious effort for a debut.
