I'd say Cloudkicker probably comes the closest in terms of "happy sounding metal".

Awesome! Loved the album, and I'm sure the melodies will only grow on me with time!!
I always had a soft spot for pop-punk, and this is like pop-punk with a metal injection on the instrumental side. Very cool!
