I really hope I could attend this. I am not able to plan that many months ahead in my current situation. I'll have to see about this in Aug/Sep.

Got $48 ticket to see Steven Wilson in november AAAAND a $10 ticket to see Opeth in October. Feeling more like home these days, Steven Wilson plays Mexico every year since 2012 so I kinda missed seeing him live.
black vinyl can always wait.

Geez those prices. For $10 you get to see an Opeth tour poster in Finland.

The Opeth venue (restaurant/bar) had a "recurring customer" sale and offered a bunch of tickets for $10. Regular is $35 I think. As for SW, he is playing at a theater and ticketmaster got in the middle, so $35 face value tickets were sold for $48. So same value, different venues, fuck ticketmaster.

John Carpenter would be a fun gig :Smile I see sunn are playing a labyrinth in Italy early September, I will be hitching around Europe then so may try to meet that one. My last sunn gig in London was a letdown, I don't think they were allowed the usual volume and from where I was I could hear the rattling of the rails and stalls louder than the band. Amazing performance, bad sound. I saw them in a Church around the time of Monoliths & Dimensions and that was perfect, aside from the loud drunk people who don't get the meditative nature and think it's a metal gig.

I see Gravetemple (O'Malley, Atilla, & Oren Ambarchi) is happening in Turkey also. Probably a little too far but I attended two nights of Gravetemple improv performances in London and both nights were perhaps the most profound experiences of live sound ever. I ended up sat on the floor after realising I was leaving my body, "GRAVETEMPLE is a sacred metaphor and psychedelic spiritual abstraction". It was beautiful for the time, but very much like a passage through death. If you're into the more inventive/musical side of sunn then if you ever get a chance for Gravetemple DO NOT MISS IT!!!
