I've seen so many shows there with 0 atmosphere cause it's blasting daylight and the wrong kind of band. The best shows there have always been the ones in the smaller tent or small building - if they still do those. Although still just to be honest I find a lot of black metal boring live. It totally lacks the atmosphere of the albums when you have a bunch of goofy guys in front of you standing still with runny corpse paint. It depends on the band and the sound, but I've seen quite a few black metal bands who I think rip on record just kinda stand around and look like dudes and take away the mystique entirely.
Word! I think in general many metal bands lack that some atmosphere live. You know, something that you really came to see there. Some bands you just go to see and when someone asks you about them after the show all you can say is "yea, it was an gig i think".
