I like a good old traditional English pint on the odd occasion that I get out of the house, otherwise I'll pick up a couple of bottles of ale at the supermarket.

Longstanding faves are Fullers London Pride, St Austells Doom Bar (cool name too!) and Spitfire Gold (can't remember who brews it). I'm quite partial to the occasional Hobgoblin too.

Most of these "band branded" that are currently en vogue are horrible. Iron Maidens "Trooper" is actually pretty good though. "666"... not so much.

I generally try whatever local ale is available when in pubs up and down the country... I'll start keeping track of them on here maybe.

Has anybody tried the Opeth Imperial Stout?
I have two bottles in stock, but I haven't had a suitably festive occasion for it. Or the occasion has been too festive...

Just heard about that, didn't realize it was a stout. Resisting urge, as these 'band brand' bottles are a bit out of hand now.

It was a limited run of 1500 bottles, sold out immediately. If you find one, grab it.

Oh christ, forget it then. I don't need to drink Opeth drink to get my drink on, haha.

One of my Favorite beer is the Austrian christmas beer 'Samichlaus' at 14%. An awesome product that I feel everyone should try once in their lives.

I like it warm as the tsweet taste and the chocolate aftertaste is more apparent than the alcohol one.

I really sugges you guys to try it.

Also try the Maiden Trooper last month before the show with my brother, an ok English Ale.

Finally popped open the Nøgne Ø Dark Horizon 3rd edition (15,5%) that had been seasoning in my fridge for 3 years while watching the snooker world champs. LOVELY! Russian imperial stout style beer that gets better over the next few years.

Tried this stout by the brewer Hill Farmstead, and it was fucking incredible. Probably the best beer I've ever had. Not even sure if they bottle it.
