How about no?

They weren't dinged corners, they were ripped open.  All of them.  Dings I can handle, three sleeves completely ripped open is absurd for what I paid.

Wat a shit ass company that your compromise is a huge sign that says "don't order from us again because we don't care about your business."

Also, fuck you.  I'll post exactly where I want.  I know this isn't the thread for it, but when they give you no other alternative than to wait and maaaaybe get a reply I'll find other ways.

Paying $70 for a limited edition in which every sleeve is ripped open is unacceptable and ANY company I've ever dealt with has gone above and beyond, this isn't even a compromise.  So yeah, fuck this company.  Won't be buying g from you again.  I'll be requesting a full refund.  Peace.

It's fine to have an issue and wish to talk that out, but as mentioned this is to be brought up with the customer service person. This is not a customer service board and as mentioned in the rules if after a warning, you will be banned from posting here. If you wish to continue discussion, write the customer service person as suggested. Although, yelling obscenities is not really the best way forward.

Regarding the box set - it was packed in the way it had to be packed in order to accommodate its build.

I know he got banned but still. It happen to me with my 'I'm the night' 2 LP Splatter Version. The vinyl were in excellent quality and only one sleeves were ripped off.

After contacting the customer service, which was still BM managing it at the time, told me the same thing and he advised to just go to my local record store and byt replacement sleeves which I did at a very low price.

Hell, you can even buy anti-static sleeves from a very low price on amazon to protect your discs....

Shit happens and ppl need to relax on those issues Sad

Pointing to one specific vinyl item and claiming it's a design flaw isn't really sensible because after dealing with probably 100.000 LPs in the past few years in various formats, I have come to see that the entire general build of LP covers are a design flaw. Unlike CDs, which break in about 1 out of 30.000 cases, LPs are designed to have their covers damaged in a very small but still dependable % no matter how you pack them. And this is how vinyl was approached and accepted by most before the current 'era' / rebirth.

Printing up a small amount of extra materials on every release is already a big expense. And running that extra USA shop already comes at a huge extra expense to help save people money in USA (and a bit in Canada). Manufacturing errors are one thing, but if I was to fix every single problem based on the design flaws of vinyl, covering also the full amount of postage, it would probably push certain pressings towards the negative, as running the shipping operations is so expensive.

Been collecting vinyl off and on for several decades and there has never been a time where cover damage wasn't possible in some form or another, including buying directly at record shops, from merch booths at shows. I still buy a lot and most stuff I receive comes in with corner dings, seam splits, etc. Never once myself asked for a refund or replacement, but I can empathize with most cases and still try to accommodate most people with extreme (and reasonable) disappointment. But, 'out of control' customers who scream obscenities, swear vengeance, try to break rules of the shop (that they agree to upon ordering) when a compromise is trying to be made are usually not people that are easy to help and their money is probably better spent elsewhere. Shit happens everyday, and everyone needs to make the best of it, and I think compromise is always the best way forward.

And, let's put customer service stuff to rest in here again, please. I hired someone else to deal with it for a reason (because of some customers like above who don't seem to actually be looking for a solution and more just want to attack and because of receiving some of the same questions too often (when is xx thing coming out, etc.) to be able to reply).

I shouldn't be commenting on the case anymore but I just wanted to say that everyone who buys vinyl should do so acknowledging that the product(s) are very much likely to get damaged by some degree in the mail. My Moonsorrow box came with seam splits of 5+ cm on every single record but I shrugged it off, it's just an inevitability. And inner sleeves? I always replace them with anti-static ones anyway. As I would recommend everyone do.

Yup. Seam splits suck, but shit happens. I got one of those signed represses of Cynics "Focus" a couple of years back... the fucking SPINE on the sleeve got a huge split so you can't read what it is. Annoying, but that's life.

LPs weren't designed with the mail-order age in mind, let alone the self-entitled internet whiner age. Seam splits and the odd corner ding happen. Dry your eyes, change your tampon, get over it.
