Have you guys ever received second hand vinyls wrapped in newspaper? Like record(s) and sleeve/inner bag separately. Isn't it quite scratchy material? And some ink might stick to the record?

Nope. Never. I am not sure about ink sticking to the record but a good cleaning might help if that's the case. Who ships records like that?
My Loss - Despond vinyl came in packed in one of those 14x14" USPS priority mail envelopes, those with wooly-like padding, the wooly thing was all over the place, took me a while to properly clean every inch of the gatefold and record, ugh. It survived the transit to Mexico, though, which was weird.
black vinyl can always wait.

Just some random private person from an auctioning site. Cant really tell about that ink thing since all the records i bought were black. At least the Twin Peaks soundtrack spinned just fine. Have to check the others too when i get some time.

I don't think newsprint ink binds as well to the paper, sadly. It's not really a smart way to send but I guess if you can't even see the difference and they play fine, I'd just overlook it but inform them not to do that again.

Seen newspaper a bunch in packaging. One particular seller that comes to mind is Northern Silence productions. Gotta love all that German newspaper. But even they only use newspaper as extra padding and it's never in direct touch with the products. I am yet to see records wrapped directly in newspaper.

This "study" dealt with UK citizens, but I'm sure you guys from Finland, USA, Netherlands etc. are just as introverted, lonely and middle-aged! :-D
