I'd say with Lateralus being one of the most critically acclaimed albums of the 2000s, and their other work appreciated as well, Tool has pretty much secured their place in history long before this whole circus.

Maybe so, but every time I hear them mentioned these days it's never '-insert album name- was so great and groundbreaking' It's always 'If they ever release another goddamn album'

Not sure, if anyone is interested in that, but the complete Nagelfar discography is going to be released on Ván records in february.
Besides the "Virus West" album all the material gets the first vinyl release so far. There is also plenty of unreleased and demo stuff with new artwork and a lot of sense for detail. They had a box set edition of 100 that sold out within hours, so they asked the public about another one and decided to make 150 more with another box and vinyl colour and reinvested the "saved" money from the higher number into more stuff for both boxes. The second pressing sold out pretty soon too--didn't follow this one so I'm not sure when. But there are regular vinyl editions of everything the boxes contain. Finally there are "Lavish" editions with a limitation of 100 for the "DIE HARD fancy pants fans". They already had 3 editons of this "caliber": - Urfaust - Voodoo Dust Lavish edition pressed on 180g amber vinyl and housed in a gatefold jacket made of strong cardboard with embossing on front to hold a massive metal emblem. Includes a black cardboard inlay with golden print and a listening CD. - Urfaust - Empty Space Meditation Lavish Edition pressed on 180g black vinyl with white splatter housed in hardcover gatefold with black faux leather covering and passe-partout cutting for an artprint, printed innersleeves inside two glued-in 12" sleeves with hotfoil debossing, double-sided poster (90 * 60cm), artprint (30,5 * 30,5 cm) and a CD listening copy. - King Dude - Sex Lavish Edition pressed on 180g smoke colored vinyl housed in hardcover gatefold with dark red colored alligator structured faux leather covering and passe-partout cutting for an artprint, printed innersleeves inside two two glued-in sleeves with round corners, double-sided poster (90 * 60cm), artprint (30,5 * 30,5 cm) and a CD listening copy. I own the both Urfaust editions and the quality is just overwhelmingly incredible (never had heavier editions in my hands especially not with a huge and massive metal emblem on top--really looking forward for a comparison with the upcoming Emperor Marble editon!

Those lavish editions look pretty neat but I just went for the pre-order edition with the testpress (also cool packaging!). It's weird that it is still available there.
black vinyl can always wait.

I love their lavish editions. Although The Devil's Blood LP lavish editions didn't have those ultra-strong sleeves (which would hold the gatefold and book better together), they are still thicker than normal and have texture and they include those thick art books. I really wish I liked Nagelfar, so I could throw my last pennies on all those lavish editions.
