RE: Black Metal - kadaver - 06-17-2016

Currently checking out some Greek bands, this being one of them:

Pretty memorable sound!

That's pretty cool! Interesting that it features the guy behind the Therion lyrics.

For what it's worth, I ordered from Pest before and had no trouble. It took some time, but it arrived. I've got so many notes from Bandcamp saying Pest Productions had new releases but haven't checked them out yet. I'll start with this.

Checked out the release. What's the best stuff on Pest Productions?

Imho, Zuriaake takes the cake here. Really well done atmospheric black metal!

I've ordered from Pest as well, it does take quite a long time until the stuff arrives but hey - China isn't really that close to europe, so I guess that's quite obvious that there's no overnight shipping Big Grin
Never had a problem with them so far.

Yeah, I have ordered Zuriaake as well (among other stuff). Good to hear that you guys didn't have any problems with ordering from Pest. It's been nearly two months since I ordered, and apparently it can take up to three, so there's still some time. It's just the fact that apparently some guys from the netherlands did receive their order within one month that made me a little nervous.

For living in china for 4 years I can tell it van be complicated.

I heard that Deng, the guy from pest is like our Blood Music guy here, he is alone dealing with everything (and he has another job too) and is following some of his bands on tour sometimes. I think he bulk ship the orders every 1-2 months or so and he does not live in a big city which gives more delays with china post office.

I never had any problems with all my orders from pest and they all arrive in perfect condition.

Hopefully you will receive them soon! Big Grin

Yeah. I've known of them for a while, but never checked them out until now. Really great stuff.

New song from a one man band from BC Canada called Old Graves. His EP This Ruin Beneath Snowfall from last year was a highlight for me. His first full length is coming out in a few weeks on digital and CD. Vinyl release coming in a few months (for me unfortunately via  European label - fingers crossed Old Graves gets some copies to sell on their bandcamp).

Has a bit of Agalloch or Woods of Desolation vibe (but slightly cleaner production than the latter).

RE: Black Metal - Emplate - 08-18-2016

So, I don't know how many members of the forum this actually concerns, but there's a book coming out about Finnish black metal called "Pirunkehto" via Svart Records. It's going to be in Finnish, and I have no idea, if they have any plans to translate it. I must say that I'm surprisingly intrigued by this, even though I don't enjoy Finnish black metal that much, and I consider many Finnish BM musicians idiots. But I'm pretty sure there could be some interesting stories and thoughts in there as well. The book will cover obviously the most important bands like Beherit, Horna and Archgoat, but also some lesser known names like Musta Surma and Vornat. The Facebook page has lots of introductory texts about and also the first five pages of the book https://www.facebook.com/pirunkehto/?fref=ts

RE: Black Metal - Blood Music - 08-18-2016

Ah interesting. NWN people would probably gobble this up, so I'm surprised no translation.
