RE: Black Metal - Godflesh - 12-16-2016

Damn. Well, we'll see what comes up.

RE: Black Metal - Emplate - 12-16-2016

Hmm, that sucks, he was quite a major part of Enslaved's newer sound.

RE: Black Metal - Emplate - 01-05-2017

Still stubbornly holding on to these genre threads, as I feel it's easier to find things when they're under suitable topic :) New Laster sounds really good. I actually thinks it's one of the better bands in this atmospheric/hipster-y black metal bunch.

There also seems to be a preview stream of the whole album @ NCS.

RE: Black Metal - Iced Guardian - 01-11-2017

I will definitely check that out. Metal Archive says a similar band is Woods of Desolation, whom I love.

Thanks!

Quote:"Speak Not of the Laudanum Quandary" is a harrowing, yet distinctly human odyssey through the absurdities and tragedies of British imperialism, voiced in an appropriately deranged sprechgesang by the band’s creative director, Alasdair Dunn. The band takes influence from the original approach to black metal found in bands such as A Forest of Stars, Dødheimsgard, Vulture Industries and Pensées Nocturnes, along with a strong taste for theatrics in the vein of Devil Doll and Diamanda Galas.

New Wiegedood video

RE: Black Metal - Godflesh - 01-27-2017

New Wiegedood sounds great!

RE: Black Metal - hugo - 01-27-2017

I know this is an ignorant comment, but reading "dood" always makes me giggle!

RE: Black Metal - RevolvingImages - 01-27-2017

"Dude, have you heard the new Wiegedood"?

"Wiege?"

"No, Wiegedood."

"That's what I said! Wiege."

"No dude, it's Wiegedood."

"THIRD BASE!!"

RE: Black Metal - Iced Guardian - 01-28-2017

lulz

and that track was great. They seemed to have gotten a bit harsher, at least in the vocals, than the last album. Regardless, I'm really excited to hear it.

De doden hebben het goed in 2015; Oathbreaker's Rheia in 2016, De doden hebben het goed II in 2017. Gilles Demolder is on a hot streak!

Also, it's interesting how Wiegedood don't have a bassist. I don't miss it from their sound.
