This gets pretty cool!

RE: Death Metal - Slrfyr - 05-27-2016

I'm into the chaotic side of Death Metal - you already mentioned most of the bands I like - Portal, Mitochondrion, etc.
to add a few, (might have overlooked them in the previous replies) here are some of my favs:
Teitanblood - I'm sure most of you guys know them
Swallowed - imho, a more doomy version of Teitanblood
Aevangelist - can't wait for their Split with Blut aus Nord
and finally: Antediluvian

All of the bands you mentioned are good, but I think Teitanblood is definitely the best of the bunch. I think Temple Nightside represents a bit of same kind of atmospheres as these bands, and it so happens that they've just released a new track out of their upcoming album: https://soundcloud.com/iron-bonehead-productions/temple-nightside-adrift-in-sepulchral-entropy If you haven't yet checked out their debut album, Condemnation, I strongly urge you to do so!

^^ Weird, I didn't know they made a second release. They wrote me after their s/t EP, which I quite liked. I just couldn't find a 'space' for them on the roster. I'll have to check this 2nd release out.

Hah, sounds nutso.  Not bad.  Doesn't sound so much like death metal so far though to me, more like 90s screamo/hardcore.

This sounds like a grower, gonna have to spend a little time with it.

OK - Orbweaver live. The woman can shred.

Difficult to pick a fav for me - depends a lot on the mood I'm in at the moment of listening. I really like that prehistoric feeling that Antediluvian delivers tho, so I might go with them as my favs.
I know Temple Nightside thanks to their split with Antediluvian but I didn't know they're releasing a new album soon, thanks for sharing!
Oh also: check out Abhorrot, also a pretty prehistoric sounding death metal band from Austria

The new Temple Nightside album is now streaming in full through Invisible Oranges: http://www.invisibleoranges.com/temple-nightside-the-hecatomb-album-premiere/ Didn't find it to be as immersive from the get-go as Condemnation, at least not at the first listen, but probably going to order it anyway.

Listened to a few tracks and sounded pretty good.
