I have a Ruins of Beverast lavish edition one and I remember thinking quality was very cool. I haven't opened it in a while (need to organize my shelves here). But I was impressed upon receipt. It reminded me of the Arcturus leather books that came a bit before it, although if I remember right, the foil stamping was much better on the Beverast one. I don't think the Emperor box will really relate to those, they are different beasts entirely, only maybe the Emperor book has a similar tone to it.

Have you tried these two? They are rather more appealing to a wider group of listeners, or in other words--I use to recommend these two to people who want to get into this band and most of the time it works!Wink

One could say that it is more or less the same track in different variations or interpretations--strange thing--but somehow it is good to know that there is a slightly different version of one of the tracks you like the most in their discography!

Yeah, I am very impressed every time I have one of those in my hands--they are expensive but definitely worth the money--the label owner once told me that everything (lavish editions) is painstakingly put together in their home area. So no cheap labor issues for these.

I am just curious about how big and heavy all those Nagelfar Lavish Editions will be when put together--the comparison to the Emperor box will happen automatically as it seems that both releases could reach my place at a similar time during next month?Smile

There is a new Flight of Sleipnir album coming on 01/20/17.

The first Track "Awake" sounds really promising--their best work in many many years imo.

New Pillorian track http://www.stereogum.com/1919046/pillori.../premiere/

not sure how I feel about it yet, what with all the drama around the agalloch break up, but this for sure sounds like an agalloch track. Also a 7" with this song is up for PO at the Haughm store http://www.dammerungarts.com/pillorian.html
black vinyl can always wait.

It's been quite a while since I last tried Nagelfar, so I should definitely give them a chance again. However, I'm afraid to do that, otherwise I might have to buy the lavish editions which I can't really afford. But if I like the records a lot, I can't afford not to buy.

I had to tell myself ten times "this is not agalloch, you do NOT need all the 7"s" to stop from ordering it.

Well shit, prophecy just put all the Tenhi catalog up for PO. I had that wooden box on my to-buy list but I guess I can skip that now!
